The science

How Zoot works.

Buccal absorption. 50mg of caffeine paired with L-Theanine, Alpha GPC, and L-Tyrosine. Faster onset than coffee. No crash on the way down.

How the gum-line delivery works.

A caffeine pouch is a small fiber pouch packed with caffeine and flavor that sits between your lip and gum. The active ingredients dissolve into the buccal mucosa and enter the bloodstream directly, bypassing the digestive system entirely.

This route — called buccal absorption or sublingual delivery — is faster than swallowing because it skips first-pass liver metabolism. Onset is typically 10 to 15 minutes for caffeine, versus 30 to 45 minutes for coffee.

The curve is smoother too. There's no spike-and-crash because the dose enters circulation gradually as the pouch dissolves over the 30 to 45 minute window. Active effect lasts 1 to 3 hours.

Four ingredients. One can.

Each Zoot Ultra pouch contains four functional ingredients chosen for how they work together — not for what looks impressive on a label. Each does one job; together they do four at once.

  1. Caffeine Anhydrous

    50mg

Standard pure caffeine. Equivalent to one strong espresso. The wake.

Caffeine blocks adenosine receptors in the brain — the body's 'you're tired' signal. Onset is 10 to 15 minutes via buccal absorption, faster than coffee's 30 to 45 minute curve through the stomach. Caffeine is GRAS-rated by the FDA and the most-studied stimulant in nutrition science.

  2. L-Theanine

    30mg

Amino acid from green tea. The smoother.

L-Theanine pairs with caffeine to reduce jitters without dulling focus. The combination is one of the best-studied 'smart caffeine' stacks — Owen and colleagues (2008) demonstrated cognitive performance and mood benefits from the combination at similar ratios. Stack-synergy dose.

  3. Alpha GPC

    60mg

    Choline precursor. The focus underneath.

Alpha-glyceryl-phosphorylcholine supports acetylcholine synthesis — the neurotransmitter the brain uses for focus and memory. Standalone nootropic doses are 200 to 600mg; the 60mg in Zoot is a stack-synergy contribution rather than a full nootropic dose. Parker and colleagues (2011) demonstrated cognitive and physical performance benefits when combined with caffeine.

  4. L-Tyrosine

    60mg

Dopamine precursor. The signal under stress.

L-Tyrosine is the amino acid precursor to dopamine. Best-studied for cognitive performance under physiological or psychological stress — military research (Mahoney et al., 2007) used it to mitigate working-memory decrements during cold exposure. Stack-synergy dose.

Each active does one thing. Together they do four things at once.

Before you use it.

  • Caffeine cap:Don't exceed 8 pouches in 24 hours. FDA daily caffeine guideline is 400mg total.
  • Skip if: pregnant, breastfeeding, or caffeine-sensitive.
  • If you're on medications: check with your doctor. L-Tyrosine can interact with MAO inhibitors and a few other classes — standard supplement safety.
  • Not for kids. Keep out of reach of children.
